Laura is the principal analyst at Robinson Insight. With over 25 years in technology industries, and 15 years in information security, she has developed deep expertise in information security and compliance. As an analytical thinker and skilled communicator, she has the ability to cut through complexity and make sense of emerging and multifaceted concepts.
Based on her competence, integrity, and high standards of excellence, Laura has gained the trust and confidence of senior security leaders. Since 2005, she has been the Program Director for the Executive Security Action Forum (ESAF), an association of CISOs from Fortune 500 companies and government. She was also Chair of the Security for Business Innovation Council (SBIC), an association of Global 1000 CISOs, from 2007 to 2014.
Prior to launching Robinson Insight, Laura held industry analyst, marketing, and management positions with technology companies as well as government agencies in North America, Europe and Asia. Her corporate experience includes RSA, Brooks Automation, Cygnus Business Media, Matrox, Mettler Toledo, and a division of Hewlett Packard.
Laura has spoken and written widely about information security and compliance. She has also authored or contributed to several seminal industry reports, as well as standards and best practice frameworks. Laura holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in economics and marketing.
Cheryl is the communications manager at Robinson Insight. She has over 15 years of experience in technology industries and over 25 specializing in communications and education. Cheryl develops and implements strategies for communicating with CISO audiences and producing peer-to-peer events. She has developed a keen understanding of the immense challenges facing cyber security executives.
With her ability to quickly filter information from a CISO’s perspective, Cheryl can zero-in on the most meaningful issues and compelling solutions. Cheryl has a laser focus on ensuring that our reports and programs deliver fresh ideas and practical advice to the CISO community.
Before joining Robinson Insight in 2012, Cheryl was a senior manager at a software company that provides cloud-based fraud detection and cloud systems solutions. She led marketing and communications, including transforming technical content to business-oriented white papers and promotional materials. Cheryl also worked in professional services, supporting SMB clients in business process design and employee training.
Previously Cheryl was a senior executive at a top-rated language education company where she was responsible for global operations and marketing. Early in her career, Cheryl was an English instructor at a community college. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English.
